I am a guitarist / bassist (some vocals and keys) looking to start a band along the lines of bands like Failure, HUM, and Quicksand.
I'm 40, from Memphis, TN and grew up playing and touring mainly in hardcore bands but have played indie rock, alt country, really a little bit of everything.
No dreams of world tours or anything but would like to get together once a week and eventually record and play shows.
What I have in mind is a project that everyone takes seriously but also isn't a giant time commitment since I have a 9 to 5 and other things going on.
I am a big gear nerd and have a decent amount of nice equipment.
I build and mod pedals and tinker with all kinds of gear in my free time.
Ideally, this would be a loud band but not need 100 watt half stacks or anything stupid loud.
2x12 cabs would be more than enough.
Other influences would be Downward, Slowdive, Ride, Nothing, Jesus Lizard, & Shellac style bass tones, MBV, Title Fight, Starflyer 59, Deftones, Centaur, Torche, Superheaven.
